New Venue for 2 month Exhibit!
Recently was accepted by the Dallas Public Library commitee to have a 2 month exhibit on display down at the Main Central Library on the 4th floor! I'm very excited for this opportunity and can't wait to be able to display my work! All pieces will be for sale, and they will be available for pick up after the exhibit is over.
Chocolate and Art Dallas!!
Wow! This show was by far the coolest thing that I attended as an artist! I got to meet so many different and amazing artists! I will be attending this show again in roughly 6 months or whenever it's coming back! I also made my first sale here! I was very excited to be apart of it!
Getting ready for the upcoming show!
Hello Friends and family! Happy New Year and hope your holidays were fantastic! I know mine was filled with new opportunities and excitment to see where we can grow to! Don't forget to get your tickets for the Chocolate and Art Show so you can some see some amazing pieces and get some new things for your space!!
Choosing my pieces took alot of time and effort. I know you are probably saying, "But Christii, why not all planets?" Because I still want to reach out to people with my talent and show that I am not just a one trick pony.
Thanks again for your support!
Carrollton Artisans Market!
November 5, 2023
The first show at the Carrolton Artisans Market was a slight success I guess. We managed to sell 1 bookmark, 1 magnet, and 1 keychain. All starts are considered good starts. Granted, I was disappointed at the end of the day, but you can't let that show! We managed to have a much better set up this time around, but I think I'm done with outside markets for a while. Had a couple pieces get damaged and I'm hecking bummed about it.
Be on the look out for our next show!!
Wylie Fall Fest!
From Saturday October 14, 2023
Greetings Travelers! Welcome back to site, come sit here with me for a moment. So the Wylie Fall Fest was a BUST! That's ok, it's a learning process and I know that, though it still frustrated me. It ended up being chilly and the Solar Eclipse was going on, so there wasn't alot of people out to see us this time. That's alright though! We ended up doing some trial and error for the display set up as you can see in the pictures. Instead of using that cube thing, we ended up being able to use a canopy and wall from my wonderful friend Jesse (he does incredible leather work for 4 Alarm Leather!) and we were able to use some window shutters as well. I'm looking forwards to the Carrolton Artisans Market on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm! And we will have a surprise guest on October 29 with us!!!!
Come peruse the sight, buy my art, and continue to support Interstellar Shades!!
Art Exhibit in The Colony!
From Saturday September 23, 2023
Hello Friends!
Today is Monday, September 25, and I will say that this weekend was a learning experience. Not only was it the first exhibition that I've been able to attend as an artist, I was able to network a little bit and met some really amazing people! I did a live painting in front of an audience, which was terrifying, but because of that I am able to have a gallery spot for 30 days! The Melon is currently being displayed there at the Art Social in The Colony at the Grandscape!
Now over to the things that my wonderful mother and I learned the hardway... Set up is no joke. We tried using a tiered wire system that ended up falling over once front the wind, but did not hold up well until we leaned it against the buidling, but then it made the artwork hard to see. I think I am going to try to find some sort of paneling that I can use to display everything towards the front next time. Also, when it's windy, figure out what you can use to tether your pieces down. Now I wasn't the only one having an issue with it, other artist's pieces were falling over as well. Makes it hard to be professional when you can't even keep your work upright. But we did have alot of fun! Make sure to head over to my TikTok and Facebook pages to see the live painting that I did!
We will see you in October at the Wylie Fall Fest!
